  제주도(濟州島, Jeju Island)

    청계천 서울특별시의 하천. 총 길이 10.84㎞, 유역 면적 59.83㎢이다. 서울 내의 모든 물이 여기에 모여 동쪽으로 흐르다가 왕십리 밖 살곶이다리(현 한양대학교 서울캠퍼스와 군자차량사업소 사이) 근처에서 중랑천과 합쳐 서쪽으로 흐름을 바꾸어 한강으로 빠진다. 서울의 도시개발 역사를 상징하는 하천으로도 유명하다. 전근대시기 자연하천에서 시작하여 여러 개천사업을 거쳐 직선화와 복개 작업이 이루어졌고, 청계고가도로가 건설되었을 당시에는 아예 사라졌다가 이후 복원이 이루어져 자연하천과 인공하천이 혼합된 형태의 하천으로 재탄생되었다. 2005년 10월 1일 공식적으로 개장하였다. 발원지는 인왕산 수성동계곡을[1] 지나는 옥류동천이라는 설과# 자하문 부근 백운동천이라는 설이# 있다. 수성동 계곡 안내판에 청계천 발원지라는 표시가 있기는 하지만, 정설로 공식 확인된 바는 아니다. 옥류동천은 70년대에는 항시 물이 흘렀으며, 90년대까지도 갈수기 외엔 물이 흘렀지만 2019년 현재...
